Toyota

Toyota intends to have a hybrid version of every one of their models available by the year 2010. With other brands such as Nissan, Mazda, Ford, Fiat, Peugeot, Audi and even Porsche, all licensed to use Toyota’s Hybrid technology in future vehicles, it’s clear that Toyota are onto a winning formula.

Toyota Prius-The Toyota Prius is a five-passenger/four-door sedan.
As the Toyota Prius is driven, it primarily operates off power supplied by the gasoline engine. At times, power from both the gasoline engine and the electric motor are used to drive the vehicle.

On Toyota Prius, the high-voltage wires and cables are orange, covered with orange plastic shielding or orange tape. Never casually handle any orange wiring or the orange components connected to it!

2004 Toyota Volta: Hybrid cars are associated with pokey nerd-chic city cars such as Toyota's own Prius, but the elegant carbon-fiber Volta, created by Italdesign for Toyota, runs on a V6 hybrid powertrain that gets 40 mpg. Result: 408 horses, 0Ð60 in 4.03 seconds, estimated 150mph top speed.

Yamaha

Yamaha's high-performance hybrid concept motorcycle, the "Gen-Ryu", is equipped with a 600cc petrol-electric hybrid system that delivers 1000cc class machine performance.

BMW

BMW launches new hydrogen powered model. Luxury meets Enviromentaly Friendly. BMW have put on show there new high line series 7, the BMW Hydrogen 7 which unsurprisingly is powered by Hydrogen, one of the most kindest fuels to power cars so far. The car has an engine which is duel mode make it possible to run the car on petrol as well as the hydrogen fuel, simply because the hydrogen fuel will be available at all service stations until there is a sufficient amount these vehicles on the road.

Honda

The Honda Dualnote.400 HP and it gets about 40mpg.

After successfully marketing its hybrid Civic, now Honda has dropped the latest generation of its Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) — Honda’s hybrid powertrain system — into the venerable Accord, one of the absolute best-selling cars on the planet. The 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid marries a 12-kilowatt electric motor to its V6, resulting in more horsepower, torque, and fuel economy than its gasoline-only sibling — 30 MPG/City and 37/Highway, vs. 21/30 for the gasoline-only Accord V6.

Luther College added two Honda Civic Hybrid four-door sedans to its fleet of college vehicles on Tuesday, Nov. 9, becoming the first college or university in the Upper Midwest states to add a hybrid passenger automobile to its vehicle fleet.

a Honda FC STACK-Equipped Fuel Cell Motorcycle

The Honda FC STACK-equipped motorcycle is based on a 125 cc scooter. For this motorcycle, sufficient body space is secured in the center of the body to install the highly efficient Honda FC STACK next-generation fuel cell, which enables startup at a subzero temperature, by locating the entire EV drive system in the rear-wheel swing arm. Other features are installed around the stack in an efficient manner, thereby maintaining almost the same body size as other motorcycles in the same class.

Hybrid scooter

Honda developed a 50 cc hybrid scooter prototype for market introduction in the near future. The scooter uses both an electric motor and an engine, but has sufficient storage space. The 50 cc model is equipped with a range of Honda’s existing environmental technologies, including the alternating current generator (ACG) starter with an idle stop function, the electronically controlled fuel injection system (PGM-FI), and an electronically controlled belt converter. In addition, it is equipped with a series/parallel hybrid system adopting a direct rear-wheel drive electric motor, incorporates a nickel-hydrogen battery in the front cowl as a secondary battery, and provides sufficient utility space.

GM

General Motors presents in Mexico, the hybrid technology for public transportation, developed by its Allison Transmission Division. This technology, environment friendly, is capable of improving the fuel performance about 60% and reduces pollution about 90%.

he Gillig Phantom transit bus is a first-of-its-kind vehicle featuring parallel hybrid technology. Able to reach speeds of 65 miles per hour, the bus uses both diesel fuel and electricity to deliver lower emissions and improved fuel economy to commercial bus use.

Ford

2005 Ford Escape Hybrid

The 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid achieves an estimated over 35 mpg on the city cycle- an improvement of at least 75 percent over the city fuel economy rating of 20 mpg for the conventional V-6-powered Ford Escape.
Escape Hybrid also offers an optional 110 volt AC power outlet, perfect for a television, radio, air pump, electric razor or even holiday lights at the campsite. A special 2.3-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine features Atkinson
cycle combustion for improved efficiency and produces 133 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 129 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm.

Lexus

The new Lexus LS, based on the LF-Sh concept shown in October in Tokyo, arrives in Detroit in January . The new car, in concept form, boasted a hybrid-V-8 mated to an all-wheel-drive system. When it rolls into showrooms next year, we expect to see a 4.6-liter V-8 in the LS460. It was told, though a seven-speed transmission will be added at some point. There will also be an optional 5.0-liter V-8/hybrid package. At the Tokyo preview, executives said the gasoline-electric powertrain will produce "an acceleration feeling of a different dimension." In 5.0-liter hybrid form, a senior American Toyota executive boasted to TheCarConnection that the LS will outperform both the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7-Series - a tall order that will be closely scrutinized.

The next new hybrid entry from Lexus is the GS450h . The prototype revealed at Jacob Javits Center will be a hybrid-electric version of the all-new sports sedan Lexus launched earlier this year. The 450 starts out with a 3.5-liter V-6, which is mated to a high-output electric motor. Together, they are expected to pump out "over 300 horsepower," according to Lexus marketing manager Mark Templin. That should help the hybrid more than match the performance of the V-8-powered Lexus GS430, launching from 0-60 mph in less than six seconds. Company officials say the most noticeable improvement in performance will be felt at passing speeds, in the 30-50 mph range. The GS450h will be the world's first luxury sedan hybrid, as well as the first rear-drive hybrid when it hits showrooms about a year from now. It will join the RX400h, the first hybrid-electric vehicle in the Lexus lineup.

Toyota will add the Lexus RX 330 luxury sport-utility vehicle to its list of hybrids in 2004.

The 2006 RX 400h (starting at $49,000) is powered by a 3.3 liter V6 engine and a pair of electric-drive motors that offer a combined horsepower of 268 and, more importantly, an EPA city rating of 31 mpg and a highway rating of 27 mpg

NISSAN

Nissan Hypermini Hybrid Concept
Lithium-ion batteries reduce weight while still maintaining an impressive driving range. The revolutionary aluminum spaceframe is lighter and more rigid than a comparable steel body. Many of the Hypermini's plastic raw materials are actually recycled from end-of-use vehicles, using a process that Nissan pioneered. Special tires let you drive up to 50 miles in case of a flat. It's also economical, costing as little as 2-cents per mile to drive
